A couple of years ago when i finally reached the age of seventeen i was very excited and could not wait to start having my driving lessons at that moment i did not really take into consideration the very high expense of
car insurance for 17 year olds. When i finally for my test i passed the first time, as you probably guessed i was over the moon that was until i got my first car insurance quotation. after spending a few thousand on lessons i got a quotation of about £2500 per year for a standard 1.4 car.
After finding the extreme cost of young driver insurance i then decided to search around to find car insurance for as cheap as i could find it & decided to write some information to help out younger drivers.
What effected the cost of insurance:
1. Where i live - i found that when i moved houses the car insurance dropped by hundreds, Insurance companies price off stats and things such as theft effect cost in a negative way.
2. Car insurance groups - The lower the group the cheaper the cost, for a new driver i recommend a car from the
group 1 insurance cars list.
3. Overnight parking - If you park on a main road overnight you will pay a lot more.
4. The cover type - There are three different types of cover which include fully comprehensive, 3rd party fire & theft and 3rd party. When getting quoted it is worth looking at all 3 of them to ensure you get the cheapest quote.
5. Yearly milage - The lower your milage the cheaper your quote.
So all in all you should shop about to gain the cheapest quote for yourself. As a little note do not lie to insurance companys as this can void your insurance & make you uninsured.
